Nobody Puts Patrick Swayze in a Corner
After going out of town for a few days, I’d planned on writing about Kanye West’s bad behavior at the MTV Video Music Awards (really, who picks on Taylor Swift? That’s like punching a kitten). However, last night something happened that overshadowed all of Kanye West’s antics and his ego–the loss of Patrick Swayze.
After publicly battling pancreatic cancer, it finally claimed him yesterday. He leaves behind a legacy of movies that would make actors like Robert Pattinson gnash his faux-fanged teeth in envy. My personal favorites have to be his roles in 1983’s The Outsiders as the paternal older brother, Darry, and of course as Johnny Castle in 1987’s Dirty Dancing. I know I am not alone in saying that I wish I could be Baby in that scene in the dance studio while they dance to “Love is Strange” by Mickey and Sylvia.

Remove Jennifer Grey, insert me.
Although there is a lot to say about Patrick Swayze, I find myself at a loss for words. No amount of words I write will do him as a performer justice nor will they fill they void that he has left in entertainment. His talent and presence will be greatly missed and I know that for me, my heart will still jump every time I hear him declare that nobody puts Baby in a corner. Thank you, Patrick Swayze, for all the years we got to enjoy you as a performer.

Very Well said.
